Volunteer with Hospice Volunteers are a vital part of the hospice program! Hospice programs are mandated to have a 5% equivalent of volunteer patient contact hours for all hours completed by paid staff. Volunteers are the glue which holds the hospice program together. All staff of hospice rely heavily on the help and support of volunteers. Becoming a Volunteer All volunteers, except those involved in fundraising, are required to complete a minimum of twelve hours of volunteer training. During this time, the Volunteer Coordinator can help you identify your strengths and interests to decide where you can best serve Hospice. Volunteer training sessions are held held throughout the year or can be completed by watching our training DVD's at your own pace.
